i think she always has half a foot in and half a foot out in terms of motivating herself to get better. she was never a singer like demi was back in the disney days but bc they pushed ALL their stars to sing, she had to. and she obviously enjoys it but i think deep down she knows she's not really a singer and so doesn't want to try too hard lol

I just find it strange that after wolves performance she knew she screwed up, then she returned for LYTLM and screwed up again. Do something, girl!)
So her new tactic is pre-recorded performances, I was surprised when she appeared with Coldplay at James Cordon’s show.

yeah after that AMA performance she essentially just dropped all of rare, crazy. i don't know what her team was thinking by putting her on the AMA stage right away (and having her open the show!) after she'd spent so much time away. like ease into it by performing on some late night talk shows first maybe.

i wonder if she'll ever go to the amas again

It was really bizarre she dropped rare because she got the best reviews of her career and it was a pretty popular record. There were so many potential singles. I guess it also was right before COVID though and she very obviously took COVID very seriously so it wasn't really feasible for her to do much else after.
