  • Chad Kimball is suing the producers of Come From Away after they chose not to re-hire him for their recent reopening on Broadway and their recording for Apple TV+
  • Kimball, an outspoken republican who has previously come under fire for his refusal to follow Covid-related safety measures, claims he was fired because of his Christian beliefs
  • His lawyer claims Kimball feels "extremely humiliated, degraded, victimized, embarrassed, emotionally distressed, extremely distraught and intimidated” because of the termination of his contract

  • Former co-stars and other Broadway actors called out Kimball when he published this tweet in November 2020:

  • Respectfully, I will never allow a Governor, or anyone, to stop me from SINGING, let alone sing in worship to my God. Folks, absolute POWER corrupts ABSOLUTELY. This is not about safety. It’s about POWER. I will respectfully disobey these unlawful orders. #inslee #Tyranny #truth pic.twitter.com/84UDiozOd1

  • Kimball was brought in by the producers of Come From Away to clarify his statements and was told production needed to focus on bringing the show back together and ensure people’s safety
  • The suit also alleges that a producer suggested Kimball's beliefs were connected to the insurrection, Josh Hawley, and the conservative Christian movement (OP note: a cursory scroll to Kimball's Twitter likes shows that the producer was 100% correct in making this connection)
  • Kimball seeks compensatory and punitive damages, lost wages, and attorneys’ fees and costs
