Director of Photography shot and killed on movie set

TMZ has reported that Halyna Hutchins, the Director of Photography on an Alec Baldwin film titled "Rust" was accidentally killed when filming a scene for the movie.
The scene required a gun was to be fired with blanks, but instead a bullet or shrapnel was discharged, and struck her and the director, Joel Souza, who is under medical care currently. Halyna was airlifted to the hospital and died of her injuries.
Variety has reported that Baldwin was the individual who fired the gun (as part of the scene).
