In an update to this post, Amazon has bought the upcoming Gareth Davis film Foe for over $30 million. Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal were initially set to star alongside LaKeith Stanfield, but he is being replaced on the project by Aaron Pierre (The Underground Railroad, Old).
Foe is set in the near future and is about a married couple (Ronan and Mescal) living on a remote farm whose lives are thrown in turmoil when a stranger (Pierre) arrives. The film is set to begin shooting early next year in Australia, with a script from Davis and author Ian Reid, who wrote the book that the film is adapting.
