Deux Moi issues retraction over Lana Del Rey

Oct 19, 2021 11:30

Last week copies of Lana Del Rey's new CD "Blue Banisters" was sold through some Canadian stores, and leaked online, a week before the actual release. Then last night, DeuxMoi posted the following "blind item" about Lana Del Rey.

A second story about her was then posted again on DM, depicting an exchange between Lana and the Target cashier about removing her CD's from the store. They were deleted but fans managed to get screenshot from Lana's instagram where she reposted them on her IG story. (Lana had announced the deletion of her "main" social media accounts a few weeks ago but continues to use her backup account "Honeymoon" on IG, to participate in social media).

Lana then made comments about the situation, saying it was false, and she was being defamed, and posted an exchange between the "anon" source and her manager, Ed. She also posted a photo of the "anon" source and their VSCO/IG accounts. OP will not re-post these as it could constitute bullying or harassment. Fans have speculated that DeuxMoi in fact had to give the "anon" source's details to Lana and her manager in order for them to contact the person, despite the "anon pls" culture DM has created.

After all this, DeuxMoi deleted all the stories, and posted a statement from Lana's manager stating the story was made up.

So ONTD, do you trust DeuxMoi still? Or do you believe Elizabeth Grant "never had a persona" Del Rey?
