Disney changes its Marvel release calendar

Disney has dropped a new release calendar for Marvel for 2022 and beyond and things are moving or outright being dropped from the schedule. No reason was given but its probably IATSE related

Indiana Hones 5 being delayed for an entire year again! The original release date was July 2019.

Sucks that Strang is getting pushed back, I've been excited for it since Wandavision finale.
I do wonder what can they achieve in those extra 6-8 weeks of post production anyway?

Not a single thing. Dr. Strange was moved because Marvel didn't want it to try and compete with The Batman. They saw the trailer reaction on Saturday and scrambled to shuffle their whole schedule.

They want DS to have the biggest opening weekend it can, and they didn't think that would happen with The Batman opening only two weeks earlier.

These dates are so far ahead you can't really predict your work output/delays that far in advance, but competing with DC is a red flag for them.

It's not just competing with DC, this is the first solo Batman movie since Bale/Nolan wrapped a decade ago, and the last time Pattinson led a franchise, it made over $3 billion at the box office. It's not like this is his first rodeo, and Marvel knows that.

Moving everything immediately after The Batman trailer did such big numbers over the weekend is no coincidence.

Any news on Ms Marvel? It was supposed to air late this year, but then H*wkeye was announced as the "next" show, and not a word on Ms Marvel as far as I've heard...

Rumor is early next year. We might hear something on the Disney+ day next month
