THR says it's due to various production delays from the panderosa: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/black-panther-indiana-jones-release-dates-1235032936/

I'm cool with a bit of a Marvel break.

That's called damage control. And it says, "...insiders say the Marvel shifts are primarily due to various production delays, as well as finding the best dates for movies as the film industry emerges from the pandemic."

Translation: Marvel saw the reaction to The Batman trailer on Saturday and decided they needed to move Dr. Strange immediately. DS was set to open only 2 weeks after The Batman but he's going to be eating up the box office for the whole month of March.

Hence, the moving of DS to where Thor was scheduled, and Thor moving, etc., it's like the domino effect.

WB has known The Batman was going to be a hit since they saw the first footage. That's why they signed Matt Reeves up to a deal giving him free reign at HBO Max, and signed Pattinson up to a massive first look deal, so whatever he wants to do in the future, he does it at WB.

Now Disney knows as well.

doctor strange and thor are my fave mcu leads so i look forward to seeing how the mcu ruins them. i think thor might be beyond saving at this point considering endgame and that what if characterisations. i dont think you can recover from that much of a character assassination.

and doctor strange going from saying he'd happily let peter die for the greater good then altering the fabric of reality bc he's getting bullied or w/e is just... going to take a lot to explain away.

I've read theories that that isn't really Dr Strange in Spiderman, or that he's an evil variant and that would make more sense.

One theory ive seen is that it’s a fake spell to show Peter not to do it, and then Peter and friends break in and do a spell anyway.
