IIRC Matt and Minnie Driver had been a thing during and after doing Good Will Hunting but during promo and the awards campaign I think Minnie founds out via the Oprah Winfrey Show (I think Matt was a guest that day) that Matt is dating Winona!! There had been no formal~ breakup so she found out via the news!!

Yes and I also remember the gossip that Gwenyth found out about Shakespeare in Love because she saw the script in Winona's house (while dating Baffleck) and then actively sought out the role. That one wasn't the most plausible but it was juicy nonetheless.
