Premiering today, true crime and sports intersect in a docuseries that examines global controversies and scandals with firsthand accounts from those involved. Following Netflix's UNTOLD, there are six, 60-minute documentaries covering some of sports biggest scandals - like The Great Patriot Deflate got nothing on these. (Apologies if there was a post for this show already, I'll be happy to delete.)
The scandals covered include:
- 1994 Arizona State basketball point-shaving scandal! (my note: okay, this one sounds good!)
- the pairs figure skating controversy at the 2002 Winter Olympics
- the Italian football director who manipulated matchups to favor his Juventus club?
- Hansie Cronje, the South African cricket captain who was second in popularity only to Nelson Mandela
- and how could my new love of motorsport not be included, this time it's in IndyCar
Source What's your favorite sports scandal? Mine would have to be the Formula 1 2008 Singapore Race Fix or commonly and lazily referred to as "Crashgate".
