Pitchfork has gone back and re-reviewed 19 albums to rescore them. Some scores went up (way up) and others down.

tbh it's been too long since they've truly gone for the jugular, they hand out a 7ish to basically everything by default now

their numerical scores never make sense in relation to the review itself, like on the rare occasion i read their bs i'll read something where the review makes it sound GOD AWFUL and then like u said it's a 7 and i'm like lol what

think they claim that the scores are done by panel while the written review is the product of a single writer, but also… clearly they don't have a problem futzing with the scores lol
