Fans of wife beater Johnny Depp decided to show up to the L'Oreal Paris fashion show to "boo" actress Amber Heard, who was there to walk the runway as a brand ambassador

i think thats the most disheartening part of this whole situation, even after she was vindicated in court, the public opinion never shifted in her favor and everyone just decided to continue letting her ex husband smear her name. she's living proof that people will never care about your abuse if your abuser is more beloved/famous

fml didn't they have undeniable proof that she was abusive towards him or did i just imagine those videos? i have defended two men who have had problematic af relationships w/ women in a 24 hour window and i'm starting to twitch, but this is literally turning into some other shit that we can't discuss the part of this case that was johnny's reputation being destroyed by someone who he had gathered evidence regarding her violent temperament.

how was he both guilty but won the case, even with these horrible labels from the judge? ia only that she was clearly on drugs bc wow, her appearance in those videos came across as awfully unhinged and strange.

ordinarily i would assume that the power dynamic would come into play and they def play that note hard, but she had more buzz about her before dating him than almost any actress of her age? her management would've known they were sitting on a gold-mine if they kept making smart choices for her project-wise. being that promising and young while probably living dependant on her mangaement's finances at times, it isn't quite the same thing as being powerless bc of the potential of future bank. even though you're obviously not johnny depp, that's a powerful position to be in as a young artist who knows they're being posed against blake lively etc as a fashion/beauty icon, which she was and still is.

he didn't win any case. he was allowed to proceed with his defamation lawsuit that amber tried to overturn by putting forward HIS libel lawsuit that SHE won.

i totally understood something different regarding him being successful in his lawsuit against her, and that was why they offered him his job back with the jk rowling project etc? that's awful. i must've got my wires crossed.

No one is assuming anything, literally nothing you're saying is rooted in reality therefore the only place you could've gotten this information was from a highly biased source you were constantly tapping into. It's like anti-vaxxers.

there is a lot of misinformation going around on this sadly, jk rowling initially defend depp but there have been behind the scenes reports that once the decision to cut him out was made, she offered no fight to keep him.

We have undeniable proof she participated in what is called reactive abuse, something that is common for abused people. Johnny is still an abuser and she's still a victim. Honestly at this point, I don't think we should be talking about this on ONTD at all because ONTD at large does not have the knowledge to navigate a complex abusive relationship.

how the hell do we determine that he is not also both an abuser and a victim the same way that she is? is it a matter of who was abusive first, and then after that the second party developing the same toxic tendencies receive some kind of "reactive" pass?

I think that him going after her long after their divorce, calling her a "Cum-guzzling whore" in public and openly trying to end her Hollwood career - makes pretty clear who the victim is here.
