As part of the segment of a cooking show, the hip hop superstar and the actress, cooked the Mexican delicacy of chiles en nogada, for the also called “Mexico’s sweetheart”, telenovela actress, Angélica María. This after Cardi expressed being a big fan of Angélica María and her TV work.
Chiles en nogada are a typical dish from Mexican cuisine and one of the most difficult to make, due to the amount of scarce, seasonal ingredients, time and skill required in order to make. Consists on poblano chiles stuffed with picadillo (mixture containing shredded meat, aromatics, fruits and spices) topped with a walnut-based cream sauce, called nogada, pomegranate seeds and parsley. Associated with Independence Day (September 16) because the dish looks like the Mexican flag and most ingredients only grow around that time.
Their chiles en nogada were apparently really good and thoroughly enjoyed.
