This is his version of being edgy. Slanging drugs or catching a case was never part of his suburban-boy-hanging-out-with-the-homies schtick. He's a Black man who acts like what we put White men down for doing in hip-hop: playing at being hard, doing too much, being corny. But for reasons I will never understand, he gets away with it.
