Very humbled to win @TheEmmys last night, huge thanks to @TVAcademy & congrats to all my brilliant fellow nominees. But want to dedicate this to Michael K Williams, his performance as Omar in The Wire is one of the great screen performances, he will be deeply missed. RIP🙏

That’s really nice of him to dedicate his award to Michael. However, I watched the last season of The Crown though and his performance was not memorable at all.

lol that was the general consensus in the live post last night: Happy for him but he didn't do anything remarkable either lol.

Yeah in the last season he was forgettable. Not his fault, he just wasn't written/edited in as much as an award winner should have been.

I didn't watch last season because although I like Tobias Menzies and love Olivia Coleman, I can't stomach the fact that I have to watch Margaret Thatcher. I don't know if the show deserves so many awards, maybe it does, but thb I'm sick of The Crown winning everything. I can't wait for Succession to come back and kick ass!

he did a really great job with the material - he made a loathsome character quite endearing, moreso than Matt Smith did but that also could be because the storylines involving Matt Smith's Philip definitely emphasized his loathsomeness more lol - but part of that was in how understated his performance was, so IA it's surprising that it would get awards attention
