I'm so happy for all the Ted Lasso wins! It's seriously been such a source of joy for me.

Also really happy for Michaela and Josh O'Connor.

I'm sad for Emma Corrin because this was a huge chance for her, and I personally think she deserved it over Olivia. I'll just think of Olivia's win as a retroactive award for her performance in Broadchurch.

Lastly, I liked The Queen's Gambit but the two guys who spoke for it tonight made me want to actively hate the show.

Especially since Queen’s Gambit just ignored any and all situations that would irl be fraught with extreme misogyny and sexism. And no one has a Kentucky accent in the 50’s and 60’s? Really? It’s basically a feel-good thing like Ted Lasso is, but when shit gets too wish-fulfillment, I get a bit annoyed.

I'm a female chess player, and I have basically the same feelings on the show. Completely laughable as a realistic depiction of women in chess even now 50 years on, but I personally (particularly that I actually live the whole woman in chess thing) don't want to see women being abused in the name of feminist accuracy. I don't think it helps anyone at all

I was so annoyed with the random old white man speaking the entire time (and going overtime) saying stuff like the show is going against the patriarchy... when he is literally the only one speaking, nobody knows who he is, and none of the women get to speak. Plus he was thanking his mom and dad..??? So we could go overtime for his personal shoutouts but not give any speaking time to women.
