Lil Nas X’ debut album MONTERO is getting the raving reviews it deserves! It currently has a 89 on Metacritic and is loved by the critics.

The Guardian (5 stars)
"It hits an impressively eclectic sweet spot between hip-hop and pop, leaping confidently from trap beats and martial horns to grinding, distorted hard rock; from music that recalls early 00s R&B to stadium ballads. The genre-hopping is unified by melodies. Song for song, Montero has more hooks - and stickier ones - than any other big rap album thus far released in 2021."

The Best of Line Fit (10/10)
"It is nothing short of iconic."

Clash (9/10)
“A colossal event release, ‘MONTERO’ excels the marketing spin by delivering one of 2021’s most daring, riveting, and honest pop statement. After months of anticipation, Lil Nas X speaks his truth - and the world is ready to listen.“

Variety (4 stars)
"At its best when he gives us a glimpse of the man behind the memes. ... For an artist that has conquered the rap world, Nas proves to be surprisingly adept at pop. ... With its genre-stretching approach and refreshingly honest exploration of love and loneliness, Lil Nas X reminds us that he’s a musical force to be reckoned with."

Rolling Stone (3,5 stars)
“Lil Nas X makes us like him even more on ‘Montero’. The young legend’s long-awaited full-length debut is a subversive delight.”

The album of the year is projected to debut with 130-140K units. It’s a digital only release, and there were no bundles. Unfortunately that means he’ll probably debut at #2, behind Drake (ugh). Buy and stream MONTERO!!!
