Vanity Fair got a first look at the upcoming Guillermo del Toro film Nightmare Alley, starring Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Toni Collette, and Willem Dafoe. There is a film of the same name from 1947 adapted from the same source material, but this film is a new adaptation of the William Lindsay Gresham novel, not a remake of that film. Plot summary: An ambitious carny with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words hooks up with a female psychiatrist who is even more dangerous than he is.
The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 17th, 2021.
