thank u, next really was a moment in pop culture, even though the video made absolutely no sense with the song. I like a lot of her music from 2014-now but ngl her videos usually look so cheap.

It was actually many moments in pop culture we've already seen that were superior: Mean Girls, Bring It On, Legally Blonde, and 13 Going on 30. As for the music video itself, it was the laziest nostalgia bait I've seen in recent years lol

oh it was lol but people went NUTS over it. She was everywhere for the next year or so and it (along with the Pete thing and Mac dying) cemented her as one of this era's It Girls.

It was delicious from beginning to end - the initial disbelief, people doing advanced calculus on his timeline with Cazzie David, the vids of him dressed like he was on Walter White’s best, the PDA, Cazzie David giving us the iconic “Came back from Africa, what did I miss?”, so many bad tats….
