It's not surprising. Definitely still weird, but not surprising. I could see once everything finally calms down with lockdown precautions people will start writing lockdown fics too. Hell they probably have!

I've seen several of them but mainly because the source material also had to deal with Covid and characters in lockdown/quarantining together.
The weirdest one I've seen was a Pride & Prejudice one that popped up in the beginning of 2020 and per its description had a Corona outbreak in Regency times. That one I find just plain weird.
