After watching this last night I am very torn about how I feel about it. Sarah Paulson never stopped being Sarah Paulson but I also feel like I never got to see Linda. I know it's accurate, but between the bangs and hair and the dark glasses, it was like they were hiding Linda and I never got a real sense of her face and performance. And it is accurate to Linda but I felt like it put a wall between her and the audience.

Not that I'm ever going to feel sympathetic to Linda especially in a show produced by Monica but it was like she wasn't even real; just this dark, hidden, large monster of petty ego and desire to feel important. Maybe that's the point but in a series meant to re-examine how the women in this story were treated by the press, it seems wrong. I think what Linda did and why she did it was awful but then she had to see herself portrayed by John Goodman on SNL and so many other things and that also seems ripe for re-examination. Can't we portray a woman as doing bad things without focusing on her size and if she is or isn't attractive?

One thing that really jumped out right away was that they nailed the diet and food culture of the 90s. I was a chubby tween and the slim fast and lean cuisine and all the other stuff felt very familiar. The focus on food, on taking so little when you eat, especially in public hit me hard. I felt that deep in my bones.

I loved Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones. I think she nailed that and brought some real humanity to a woman who was wronged over and over again, first by Clinton and then by the opportunists who used her to try to bring Clinton down.

The poor woman who really had to share a cubicle with Linda at the pentagon is the biggest victim no one ever talks about. Desk mate from hell!

I just googled this to see and Monica is said to be 5'6" and Beanie is said to be everything from 5'1" to 5'7" which is quite the difference. (5'4" comes up the most)

the media made paula seem like a dumb hick, so i liked seeing more about what was going on in her life besides getting harassed by clinton. I've read a few interviews with her, but still had no idea about how her husband reacted or his "career"
annaleigh looked and sounds so much like her!

The portrayal of diet culture from the 90s was so realistic. My mom had Sweating to the Oldies and every one of Susan Powter's books. From disgusting shakes, constant magazine covers about weight loss, and awful TV dinners, it hit hard.
