Lorde Will No Longer Perform At Upcoming 2021 VMAs Due To A “Change In Production Elements”
On Friday, MTV announced that Lorde will no longer perform at this year's VMAs. A tweet posted to the official VMA account read, “Due to a change in production elements, Lorde can no longer perform at this year’s show. We love Lorde and cannot wait for her to perform on the VMA stage in the future!”
The last time the “Solar Power” singer took the stage at the VMAs was in 2017. Lorde performed “Homemade Dynamite,” but did not sing due to having the flu. Instead, she did an interpretive dance onstage while the song played in the background that left many viewers perplexed.
