Dune, Spencer, The Card Counter, The Lost Daughter, and King Richard have all premiered over the past 24 hours at Venice and Telluride. Here's what the critics are saying about each:

DUNE
BBC: Film has scope and richness that is a splendid achievement but will anyone care about characters who are shallow and have no personality?
IGN: A gorgeous but imperfect epic that spends too much time setting up a third act we may never see.
The Guardian: A slow-burn space opera that fuses art-house and blockbuster to otherworldly brilliance.
Variety: The film is out to wow us and succeeds, until it doesn't.
IndieWire: Story is told on such a comically massive scale that a screen of any size would struggle to contain it.

With 17 reviews, the film currently has a 76 on Metacritic.

Spencer [*95*] In Theaters Nov 5: https://t.co/9Uy248K35a
"The 31-year-old (Kristen) Stewart - who will be instantly and justifiably awards-tipped for this - navigates this perilous terrain with total mastery...." - Robbie Collin, The Telegraph pic.twitter.com/NhEWLncex8

SPENCER
The Guardian: Kristen Stewart is compelling, giving an awkward and mannered performance of an awkward and mannered person.
The Hollywood Reporter: Tells a story we think we know in a new and disturbing light, but not everything lands.

With 6 reviews, the film currently has a 95 on Metacritic.

The Card Counter [83] is a Metacritic Must-See: https://t.co/Vf6YbbSD7G
"You’ll leave the film unable to stop thinking about its dimensions." - Cassie da Costa, Vanity Fair pic.twitter.com/4cSjdlW5HG

THE CARD COUNTER
The Playlist: If you get on the film's bruising, mesmeric wavelength, you're in for a truly wild ride.
Time: Oscar Issac is superb. A film you didn't know you were wishing for at a time when wishing for life to restart has become all-consuming.
Slash Film: Oscar Issac gives the peformance of his career even the film itself doesn't quite match his intensity.
The Hollywood Reporter: A character study that's a companion piece of sorts to First Reformed.

With 16 reviews, the film currently has a 83 on Metacritic.

‘King Richard’ Review: Will Smith and Aunjanue Ellis Inspire as Venus and Serena Williams’ Eye-on-the-Prize Parents https://t.co/ig3tWOqiTq

KING RICHARD
Variety: Inspirational filmmaking at its most effective. Entire cast is impressive and give strong performances.
The Hollywood Reporter: Far from perfect, but has a strong subject matter and equally strong performances.

The film does not have a Metacritic currently but with 5 reviews is sitting at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

THE LOST DAUGHTER
Vanity Fair: Maggie Gyllenhall knows exactly want she wants to capture and how and we feel it in the pacing and framing. Has immediately become a director to watch for.
The Hollywood Reporter: Gyllenhall and her cast make this a mesmerizingly psychological drama.
Screen International: A supremely confident feature directorial debut from Maggie Gyllenhall.

With 12 reviews, the film currently has a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
