But the press only takes note because it's Black people criticizing a Black celeb. White celebs sashay around plantations they bought and it takes years for the press to notice or make a fuss. Beyonce shows up in an ad wearing a diamond no White celeb ever got criticism for wearing, and suddenly it's a story? Yeah. Right. Sure.

Man, I am begging you to free yourself from the shackles of caring what white people think about intra-community issues. Please read the article linked in the post and reflect on that. Gaga did not receive backlash on this topic because 1) Black people don't fuck with her like that and don't expect anything from her, 2) Beyonces is not only black but coming of an era that was supposedly pro-black, pan-africanist. Ma'am I am asking that you understand that nobody gives a shit about our intracommunity issues or criticisms in a way that would affect celebs, unless the majority culture gets pleasure from highlughting it. For example we were talking about R.Kelly for AGES. That shit was KNOWN. The community was open about talking and/or criticizing him.
