Ive been swept up in the Buddie train despite it feeling really queer baiting in some episodes yet not forced in others, BUT I will say that this season will be a def breaker for me if they're gonna actually pair Buck and Eddie together.

Like, half of me wants them to not do it since it would kind of be caving into the fandom, but the other half wants me to have it happen because the two actors do have insane chemistry when they are allowed to be just themselves as their characters.

I really don’t get thinking that buddie can happen at this point tbh. In season 2 and early season 3 yeah it looked possible, but since then the writers had so many opportunities to at least hint at either of them being not straight and they never used them. Both characters were single for two seasons and they never used this to build anything up. Instead, they gave them both love interests now and I’m sure they’re intent on developing those relationships and wouldn’t throw those women under a bus lol. At this point, it’s firmly in the wishful thinking territory, NOT queerbaiting. The only thing was that Tim Minear interview where he basically said he is aware of the ship but he doesn’t agree that it’s queerbaiting and doesn’t want to write them differently just because people think it’s baiting while also maintaining some bs “you never know” ambiguity lol.

I feel like the easiest solution to keep shippers and non-shippers happy would be to just keep them without "endgame" love interests. The show has a bazillion characters as it is, and yet the firehouse always feels empty. If they wanna invest in more side characters, Athena could use more police sidekicks and the firehouse could use some recurring characters too.

Plus I wasn't very impressed with the S4 love interests, the redhead with Buck could be fun, cause she's a bit edgy but Eddie's girl while gorgeous is dead boring just like him, so I'm not seeing the appeal. And as for not throwing women under the bus, remember when they just killed off Eddie's wife in S2? like even on the show nobody cared about that. Her I liked tbh, I really felt for her in the background episode.

Well, romance has always been the weakest part of the show, so the bland love interests is nothing unexpected. Athena and Bobby's love storyline could have been really cute but they got basically no development lol. Most relationships just exist in the background. I think Maddie and Chim arguable got the best development of all.

IDK if making them perpetually single is the best way out since Buck's plot hinges a lot on him finding love. But eh, we'll see.

I’m the opposite. I prefer Ana to Taylor. I think it’s because I feel like they insert Taylor into the story too much. Maybe if Taylor had a different job and wasn’t a part of the cases or action. I actually like the actress and think she has chemistry with buck. But I’m meh on the character.

I agree with you. It’s not going to happen. That had the perfect time to make Buck bisexual in his solo episode. I use to agree with the not queerbaiting until Eddie said Buck was Christopher guardian if he died. And them just not telling fans it wasn’t going to happen. It’s okay to say that the characters are straight. Lol!

As much as i would've loved to. I don't think it'll happen. (Which seems odd to me that Ryan Murphy is not jumping all over a buzzed queer fan-pairing.).

But yeah, i don't think it'll happen now that they both have love interests.... Then again. I said the same about Destiel and what do you know...

Ryan Murphy is not involved with the show anymore beyond collecting his $$$. It’s all on Tim Minear now.
