The band's lead singer was fined $100 for violating Section 37 (1) of Bylaw 7200. It states that “a pedestrian shall not cross a street within one block from a traffic signal except at a crosswalk

There’s a name I totally forgot about. And ugh I hate Jay walkers. I almost hit one yesterday trying to run across the fucking street when I had a dedicated left, resulting in me slamming on my breaks and the person behind me almost hitting me. Fucking wait until it says to walk. 🙄

One dude got soooo lucky he was wearing a reflecting vest on cause my partner nearly hit him when he was walking across a dark street smh

Also the jaywalkers that know they can’t be walking right there and are holding up traffic with their slow walking are the bravest souls in this country rn

i almost hit a jaywaker at night and the dude was wearing black. he kept walking like nothing happened!

I don't fuck around with jaywalking ever since I got hit by a car- I wasn't jaywalking but it still made me 500% more paranoid about crossing the street with cars around. Plus my lawyer told me that following the law is the only way to have a strong case and they had to drop a client who they found out was jaywalking (which means you may be stuck with any medical bills you get.)

my neighborhood is an extremely nervewracking place to drive in because jaywalking is practically a hobby around here. people will just casually wait for the light to turn *against* them and start moseying across the street just as cars start to go, or will see that the light is turning yellow - when cars are most likely to pick up their speed to make it through the intersection - and be like "oh word, it's my turn?". I've missed whole lights before because of them. and people who literally just hang out in the street and do not give a fuck that cars are streaming by. just tonight I nearly hit a woman who was wearing all black and just standing around on her phone in the middle of the turn lane. I was approaching her and saw her and honked and she was all like "who me?" and very slowly walked like a foot to the side and I still had to swerve around her. people are reckless as hell, my god. I jaywalk all the time when I know it to be safe but I cannot IMAGINE having the balls these people do
