Don’t complain.. especially to me… I’m sure girls in Afghanistan or other places in the world love to do anything to be able to just study https://t.co/7x7x6lcRiz

god how hard would it have been for her to respond with something like, "take a break, get some water, then come back. I believe in you!"

just because someone else has it worse doesn't mean that this girl isn't having a hard time at the end of her semester or whatever. I was so stressed in school I got hives every day for a couple of months.

Telling someone to take a break and stop studying when they’re asking for motivation to study isn’t in their best interest.

are you kidding? Have you ever studied for hours and just hit a wall? "take a break" could mean take ten minutes, walk around, maybe go outside for a minute so that you get a change of scenery. It could mean watch one episode of a show you like to reset your brain. It could mean do 20 minutes of yoga. It doesn't mean fuck off to disney land and never return. There is PLENTY of research that shows taking a short break is really helpful for re-energizing and becoming more productive.

It sounds like that works for you, and that’s great. They could’ve been procrastinating studying all day, though, and just started. Taking a break would just be more procrastination. There are some subjects that you’re never going to be motivated to learn, so you just have to do it and not wait to change your mindset.

I'm not sure how it works on Twitter but I wonder if she thought this comment was a coming from a post about Afghanistan and got annoyed? Like EP posts about something bad in the world and then immediately this girl @s her and it looks like she was responding to that? Its giving EP a lot of credit though I would just say nothing cause why bother.

this new generation spend most of their time online complaining about being tired

they might be more privileged than a lot of people, but they're still in the prime of their lives missing milestones, losing jobs/homes/security, watching family & friends die, and hearing about how they have no future on a burning earth with dwindling resources as they fight late-stage capitalism ... so I think they're allowed to be depressed/anxious/tired.

I wish this was included in the post, it definitely makes me team Ellen here. Can you imagine posting about all the horrible things happening in Afghanistan and then someone @‘s you with this shit? And if they are a big enough fan to @ her, you’d think they follow her and can see what she’s focusing on right now.
