eh, there are people out there who have skin conditions that are aggravated by taking too many baths. my goddaughter has terrible eczema and too many baths/showers make her itchy. (she does, however, wash herself off with a cool washcloth and a dermatologist-prescribed no rinse soap every night even if she can't shower.)
there are legit reasons, and besides that, even speaking as someone who does shower pretty much every day, I don't think daily showering is needed for most people (super active kids, athletes, people w/ physically demanding jobs, etc. are obviously exceptions)
I mostly did too, I get patches but not nearly as bad as the severe, bleeding stuff I had as a kid. My doctor tells me I wouldn't if I didn't take hot showers, but the signs can't stop me if I can't read!!!!
I take lukewarm-to-cold showers most of the time because I have really sensitive skin on my legs and knees (it’ll turn bright red and splotchy and itchy as fuck in hot water) and after years of doing it, I kind of like it better. It certainly does wake you up in the morning too.
I've noticed years and years ago that I can shower using only certain brands, because others will give me a skin rash (no matter if they were tested and approved) but also, it came down that I am okay with one brand but not necessarily all of their products (like, I can use Nivea's creamy shower gels, but not the fruity ones in the see through bottles). And even if I use a brand that does not give me a rash, if I will use it for a too long period of time, I will end up in rashes again so I have to rotate between brands while also keep in mind which of them are a no-go.
NGEL, when we were in lockdown and I would have to leave my house only one day per week, I would still shower every day but dismiss shower gels on most days to give my skin a break.

my goddaughter's dermatologist is hopeful that she'll grow out of it after puberty (she's 9 now)
