CODA sounds really similar to a French (Canadian?) film about a hearing girl in a deaf family. Does anyone know the movie I'm talking about? I think that girl sang instead of played the piano.

Edit: Re Beckett Originally titled Born to Be Murdered That's the stupidest title. Imagine walking into a theatre and asking for a ticket to "Born to Be Murdered"? Nonsense.

Look at you, you super star!!!!!!!! You're amazing. Merci.

(And since I could now search for La Famille Bélier, I just read that CODA is the English remake, so I wasn't imagining the similar plot.)

It's also the plot of the German Beyond Silence from 1996. The daughters plays the clarinet there.

I've been learning Mexican sign language for the last two years and I'm really excited that there are more tv shows and movies with and about deaf people. I enjoy finding similar signs in English and Spanish.

In the movie she's a contemporary ballet dancer at first actually, there's a whole discussion in the movie on why reggaeton is considered cheap, vulgar etc that is very interesting!

I saw Joker which I hated. Joaquin was good, but he's given better performances that should've gotten this much acclaim. Also I watched Bombshell and it was a movie? All those actors wasted on a weak ass script and lazy direction.

I watched The Block Island Sound and In the Tall Grass this week. Block Island Sound reminded me of another super low-budget indie horror I saw recently by Tess Gerritson that I actually liked, Island Zero. And In the Tall Grass reminded me a little of The Endless.

I also watched Escape Room which was Final Destination-esque fun.
