This is one of those shows that I wouldn't mind a remake of? Obviously with a new show runner. Or maybe a continuation. I'd love to see slayers from all over the world who have to battle vampires and demons that could be culturally based? But... Idk. I'm getting back into reading, maybe I'll check it out when it comes out?

What they should do is throw this on FX and make an anthology series with every season following a different Slayer in a different decade/part of the world. Follow them from their calling to their last battle.

Seriously, I don’t understand how this hasn’t been done yet! The mythology of the show lends itself perfectly to an anthology series.

I am like a week late to this but they have like two or three different 'Tales of the Slayer' books from the early 2000s. They literally already have slayer stories ready to go, it would be an amazing anthology series on HBO or something.

That would be cool. I’m at that point in my life where I appreciate a well told story and they could do a lot. Even if they went with a post series anthology that followed active slayers but in different places around the world. They have a lot to work with.

I agree. Idk about a remake but I definitely want more of the buffy world on my screen. A series following a new slayer would be nice.

One of my favorite things about the original series was the whole awakening of slayers around the world. They would have a lot to work with, from rebuilding the watchers (didn’t it blow up in season 7? Or near before?), but less icky than they were, to slayers working in the field all over the world. I think it’s a property that in the right hands could have a lot of story to tell.

I literally came over here to post this. Buffy holds a special place in my heart but I wouldn't mind a remake with Whedon's stink on it. A female showrunner could be awesome.

Yes to a female show runner!! At writers and directors who are more dedicated to telling an amazing story than drama (I’m on a ‘this drama isn’t necessary’ kick right now). I think a while back I thought having an Native American slayer would be cool, because they have mythology you could play off. Or one from India or other parts of Asia. Or a series that takes place in Africa. It’s why I wouldn’t mind them just continuing the series from where it left off but have slayers everywhere in different places. I actually kind of wouldn’t mind if a bunch of places were able to adapt their own slayer series that fits their location that’s all connected somehow.

I think slayer mythos has a lot of potential and they could do a lot.
