The recovery for c-section is much more difficult so I don’t know where people get off calling her lazy

Right? This is what I don't get. A c-section is major abdominal surgery and it's a 6 week recovery minimum. Like... it's not an easy way out

that's insane, this is literally putting her health first??

and a friend of mine who just had a baby a few months ago had to stop breastfeeding because it was so painful for her and she felt embarrassed that she had to "announce" that she was stopping. it's just ridiculous that moms have to even worry about this type of shit.

I had a coworker who couldn't even start breastfeeding when her baby was born because she had a staph infection. She got harassed by one particularly bitch ass nurse and was pretty much stalked by La Leche. She got called names and was accused of all sort of shit, but her reply was just "uhhh... you want me to give my baby a staph infection or what?" I don't know why the nurses, of all people, would get angsty at her, but then a bunch of nurses have shown their asses to be antivaxx recently, so anything is possible I guess.

nurses these days are really showing their asses. my mom never breastfed me and i turned out perfectly healthy. the stigma around this is completely ridiculous.

That makes no sense because the recovery is way worse… like how is that being lazy?

ETA: meant to say, recoveries from c-sections are normally longer… not necessarily worse.

Damn, I worked at a maternity ward for some time and a c-section is a big, traumatic OP that takes a long time to recover from. Giving birth is hard, but after, you're far fitter. The whole to posh to push bullshit is really something else.

Also - stop shaming women.

I'm glad your grandma and the other lady called that hag out. I have no tolerance for women who shame other women for their child-birthing decisions.

Agreed. Women, especially BIPOC women, already have an uphill trek through life. We can’t be hindering and weighing down each other, too.

....and not one person asked my grandmother what the hell that was all about after wards.

Everyone probably guessed it was about the hag.

She was known for having shitty opinions, so I think you're right.

Disgusting. My cousin's mom made a comment about how it was "easier" & I'll forever regret not telling her off.
