Today EXO member D.O. finally releases his debut solo album. Accompanied with the album is a music video for "Rose". The album counts 8 songs in total, including an English version of "Rose" and a song in Spanish.

Disappointed tbh. he's not even promoting, so not sure he did it for the charts. these songs usually do well, but from digimons, so its not charting well on korean charts.
i wish soloists were more experimental with their music

I'm surprised it's not charting well bc this is very coffee shop in seoul vibe. I also do wish SM artists would branch out with their solos. Like Kai, Baek and Yunho were really interesting and then the rest is like...whelming. I hope Seulgi brings something fresh.

I think he did it as a gift for his fans because he is going in full actor mode, he would be promoting of he wanted to chart imo

So is he retiring his way to a baeksang award? that would be a damn shame but it really doesn't look like he's into the solo artist route and I don't blame him bc he's never really seemed into the kpop promo game.

I mean I'm not sure but he has 2 big acting projects so I assume he didn't have time for promotions but did it anyway because of that reason, like exo with dftf, they literally just released the MV and the bts videos and moved on and that seems to be the same case here lol, not one schedule to promote, Baekhyun at least had the VLive and a few other things

why are people so sure that he doesnt love music anymore? where did that came from? he said it again and again how much he enjoys making music and he always choose that.

The promotion is SM's fault, as always.

I do think he loves music but he wants to dedicate more to acting so the lack of promotion was probably because he was busy with the acting projects, SM is a shitty company but I don't think they won't even give one schedule, but I'm just speculating of course

I wonder if for a full fledged album would say something different if he really want to go off solid as a soloist. And in the end that it’s a mini album. He must’ve been active in some other projects outside his music and stay focused on them. I assume SM in particular have control over that music aspect and this was it. So I ain’t mad. If this was what he wanted, then… okay. He’s a good actor so there’s that and hoping he gonna get bigger career wise.
