In an new interview with Time magazine, 13 Reasons Why star Tommy Dorfman opened up about her gender identity, her pronouns, and her thoughts on coming out.
"We’re talking today to discuss my gender. For a year now, I have been privately identifying and living as a woman-a trans woman."
She also explained that she will still go by Tommy:
“I’m named after my mom’s brother who passed a month after I was born, and I feel very connected to that name, to an uncle who held me as he was dying. This is an evolution of Tommy. I’m becoming more Tommy." She added, "It is not transition. Or it is, but not as an idea of going somewhere. Just that I am actually myself."
