I know less than nothing about Dune but there is something quite amusing to me about the lead just being a guy called Paul. It's like writing some epic sci-fi body of work just to name your lead Doug.

Since George Lucas stole an insane amount of ideas from "Dune", that's probably why his main character was named...Luke.
