Paedophile, sex offender and all around blight on the planet, failed GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore filed an €80m ($95m) defamation lawsuit against Sacha Baron Cohen after his appearance in the 2018 sketch show Who is America?

Moore alleged defamation of character and fraud owing to a scene where Borat waves a "paedophile wand" (a tool to detect sex offenders (especially paedophiles) over Moore and it beeps.

The judge threw out the claim, his judgment read "It is simply inconceivable that the programme’s audience would have found a segment with Judge Moore activating a supposed paedophile-detecting wand to be grounded in any factual basis," Judge Cronan wrote in his opinion.

"Given the satirical nature of that segment and the context in which it was presented, no reasonable viewer would have interpreted Cohen’s conduct during the interview as asserting factual statements concerning Judge Moore."

Individuals on Cohen's sketch show signed a waiver indemnifying the production from any legal claims.

After the dismisall Cohen shared the segment on his Twitter:

Sorry, Roy. Nice try.

And this is now part of the legal record:

“Several published articles accused Judge Moore of inappropriate sexual encounters with young females, including one who was underage”

Seems like a good day to enjoy this again:https://t.co/5i8Ojs5pc4
