Taika Waititi and Jermaine Clement are teaming up for a new action-adventure TV series.https://t.co/2EHUNx51gX

- The What We Do In The Shadows pair have started working on a new series together, per Jemaine: "Taika and I are working on a new series right now which we just started writing. I can't tell you much about it yet, but what's fun about it and what makes it exciting for me is it's something I always wanted to do which is long-form episodes in a sitcom. It's an action-adventure comedy. It'll be different from what I've usually done. I've made three sitcoms now, and I hope this one is still funny but more of an adventure series."
- Have considered making more entries into the WWDITS universe (along with Wellington Paranormal) but not sure if anything will ever come to fruition; unsure if Wellington Paranormal will return for a fifth season
- Jemaine enjoys working with someone as opposed to being the sole person telling others what to do, such as with WWDITS season two
- Finds it odd that he discovered success in America first, which has now let him make New Zealand comedy: "I always thought we'd be doing things here [in New Zealand], and now I'm doing that, but I had to go to Hollywood first because it's harder to do here, in a way. When we were making Conchords, they weren't making very many New Zealand comedy shows then. They'd sort of given up on it. We had a much easier time in America than in New Zealand. After doing Conchords and because the Shadows movie did well, we got to make [Wellington Paranormal]."
- Likes seeing more NZ representation on a global scale, such as a robot with a NZ accent in The Mandalorian (played by Taika, of course): "My son didn't know why I was laughing but I told him that at one point, we wouldn't have had that: a robot that talks like us."

Jemaine also talks about the possibility of a Flight of the Conchords reunion with Bret McKenzie:

- Jemaine isn't sure if Bret would be up for a one-off special: "I emailed Bret twice in the last week, and he hasn't replied to either of those. So I don't know. I'm sure I'll get an answer, but it'll take some days. The first one I sent a few days ago, and he'll maybe reply to that one in a week. The second one I may get a reply in like a month saying, 'I just saw this!'"
- He thinks the fictionalized versions of themselves would have spent the pandemic trying to collaborate via Zoom: "I think they would have been trying to jam over Zoom and being frustrated with the time lag. But they'd keep going! They'd be working all day trying to figure out who should start first and playing slightly earlier, so when I come in we would be on time. And Murray [Rhys Darby] would be a little box in the Zoom."
- Flight of the Conchords is a difficult show to make because you have both the show and music aspects of it: "Even though I was making two TV shows - What We Do in the Shadows and Wellington Paranormal - making Flight of the Conchords was harder because we were making music for it at the same time. I was telling Bret how making two shows is still not as hard as making a musical show."

This is not really true by the way. https://t.co/kvlWoHbLgm
