I would go off on a rant about how disgusting flex culture is and how rich people are literally the worst, but I’m just gonna sit here and eat my food. Kulture’s a cute kid, that’s all I got tonight.

I just... don't understand flex culture? Why is it a thing? Why are people... the way they are?

It’s always existed, but social media has made it a million times worse. I just imagine of all these people who are going to be potentially broke in the future and looking back at their ridiculous SM posts. A friend of mine spent $1,800 on her kid’s first b-day and regrets it so badly even 10 years on

This whole trend of throwing toddlers over-the-top birthday parties with catering, professional photographers, booked venues and shit is so wild to me. My siblings and their friends do this (and they're just regular people lol) and I'm sitting here being all like whyyyy. Put that money away in your kids college fund or something.

Regular people I know are putting like iPods in the goodie bags of six year olds! Just to keep up and outdo the other mothers/families

Exactly! Like any of these small children would even care if their parents threw them a regular party. It just feels like once you go that extreme with a party, there's no going back. It's only bigger, better parties from there on out.

omg $1,800?! I'm so curious about this party...
I think I spent maybe $100 for my daughter's first birthday party that I held at my house.
