I cannot comprehend why yt people think hallucinogens are a one-stop cure all to all their problems.

I wish they were! I would love to get rid of my anxiety. I would be smoking all the toads lol. But I fear/know hallucinogenics would just mess me up more

I see what you are saying, but in all fairness there have been a lot of recent studies about microdosing LSD and other hallucinogens that helps certain types of psychosis and other mental issues. There's also an argument that since the compounds come from natural sources they can actually be better for you in the long run than the pharm stuff but I need more testing for that, dammit!

source: My therapist (who has an interest in non-traditional approaches for mental illness in addition to what he does, so he reads up on new therapies, techniques, etc).

I should have been more clear, my apologies. I meant in my sentence above that sometimes people (mainly my close friends) use ONLY hallucinogens illicitly and expect it to fix all issues.

No worries! My therapist uses a combination of meds, talk therapy, and cognitive behavior therapy in his practice and would never recommend someone to do one of those South American "enlightment" tours to stop their symptoms. Also, some folks just like to get high but are ashamed to say that so they blame it on their ~issues~

I do have to admit that after reading some of these other comments I'm concerned for the toad's welfare and environment.
