Britney Spears' relationship 'a bright spot' as she fights for her future
"The Fight for Britney's Future" is on the cover of People Magazine's July 12 issue, and in addition to recapping much of the past few weeks' events it sheds light on Britney Spears' five-year relationship with fitness model Sam Asghari.
According to a family source, Asghari has been Spears' "rock" since the pair met on the set of the singer's "Slumber Party" music video in 2016.
"He is a great influence on Britney," the source tells People. "He doesn't drink or do drugs. He is very focused on being healthy and inspires Britney. She would be lost without him."
A friend of the couple is also quoted as saying the couple is on the same page when it comes to taking their relationship to the next level. "He's ready for marriage and kids with Britney and is serious about the relationship," they say. "She wants to take that next step and have that full life with him.
"As a couple they've hidden how they've really felt even from people close to them because they were anxious and scared, but now it's all out there."
