  • Earlier this month, a viral TikTok made by Kim Saira highlighted how “Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts”-a confessional game where guests must either answer a high-stakes question or eat an unappetizing snack-perpetuates anti-Asian racism.
  • After her TikTok went viral, Saira started a Change.org petition calling for Corden to apologize for the segment on The Late Late Show. As of publication, the petition has more than 45,000 signatures.
  • Corden addressed this backlash for the first time on The Howard Stern Show earlier this month, vowing to give the segment a culturally sensitive makeover. “I don’t know when we’re gonna do that bit again, but when we do we absolutely won’t use any of those foods,” he said, later adding, “Our show is about joy and light and love, we don’t want to make a show to upset anybody.” Instead, Corden suggested that “Spill Your Guts” might feature theatrically unhealthy options like the “pizza covered in cheeseburgers” that was once presented to Vogue’s Anna Wintour, he explained.
