Jane Levy Responds to Her Absence in Don't Breathe 2
maybe we should be asking why these films are made in such a way that their directors are averse to having committed actors participate?

The trailer for Don't Breathe 2 came out yesterday and people were surprised not to see the first film's Final Girl Jane Levy. She addressed the issue- and director Fede Álvarez's comments- on Twitter.
Alvarez said at a press conference for the movie that Levy wasn't asked back because the ordeal would be too demanding:
"Jane is amazing; we've made two movies with her and have so much respect for her. ...When I saw her shooting this movie, I did not see her happy. I think that she gives 200% every day, and these movies are really demanding in the way we do them also. So I wouldn't have done that to her."
Director Rodo Sayagues added that the decision to remove Levy was not personal but a plot decision:
"We came up with the story, and the story didn't call for her character. So, that was it."
