I watched Abducted in Plain Sight last week. That shit was so fucked.

The Imposter was crazy. There’s Something Wrong with Aunt Diane was so sad.

mte. they didn't warn you and they showed them for too long.

I got a heads up about it before I watched the documentary, so I looked away when the pictures were shown, didn't see anything as a result.

they appear near the end. The only truly graphic one is of Diane. You'll be able to see it coming although I definitely agree with the others that there should have been a warning (or not there to begin with)

Yeah the level of denial was really infuriating. I can tell even that forensic pathologist was really trying hard to bite his tongue with the lazy husband and sister when they kept denying the results and, ultimately, the truth

I feel bad but this past year has made me very unempathetic to people who use denial as a coping mechanism. It's dangerous and harmful, and it's rampant. I don't think I could even watch this doc again now.

That's a harsh blanket statement. Have you ever dealt with someone close to you who abused drugs or alcohol?

People don't purposely choose to be in denial. It's an immediate coping mechanism that is about self preservation, and actually does work for a period of time.

I haven't watched the doc, but I've read about the case, and I really don't understand--it's not like she was a "having a few too many drinks every night" functioning alcoholic, it seems like she was drinking mass quantities. How do you turn a blind eye to that?!?
