June 27, 2021 F9 finally debuted this weekend to a pandemic record of $70 million in 4,179 theaters. This marks the widest opening of a film since Onward was released in March 2020 and the biggest opening for a film since The Rise of Skywalker in December 2019.
Worldwide, the film has been a massive hit, crossing the $400 million mark.
A Quiet Place Part II came in 2nd with $6.2 million, followed by The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard ($4.87), Peter Rabbit 2 ($4.85), and Cruella ($3.7).
Next weekend's July 4th weekend releases include The Tomorrow War, The Forever Purge, Zola, No Sudden Move, The Boss Baby 2, Fear Street Part One, and Summer of Soul.
