Yup I’m gonna watch and I rewatch KitH once a year or so.

Scott and Buddy are imo important because of the openness and even celebration of being gay without the goddamn tragedy. I always saw the fun and camp side but some of the defiance always came through to me too, even as a kid. And that Scott was never treated as something the others had to “put up with”.

But it also taught me something else that sadly hasn’t changed in society. We’d rather nitpick actual gay people for their lives and choices and celebrate straights for acting gay cause it’s somehow safer and gives people the illusion of being tolerate without having to pay off.

Nothing ages well and they aren’t my words to need to defend or not. But for myself I’m a little (lot) more concerned with the actions politicians are taking against the community than insensitive 20 year old comedy sketches.

I do believe he should have had a better career and didn’t because he was open and unashamed. And I appreciate he’s never been self loathing about where his career could have gone. Unlike Rupert Everett for example.
