Why would you even want to make a movie out of this? And who would want to see it? If you must for some reason make a movie about a shooting maybe choose one that’s a really long time ago? Or make a fictional one?

Aside from that I just don’t get movies about events like this anyway.

There's a lot of ghouls and weirdos who are entertained by media about murder and serial killers and horrible true life crimes.

I don’t think a massacre is something to make a movie about.

Australians would lose their shit if they made a movie about Port Arthur. And that was in 1996.

It’s just sickening

Especially if you’re going to centre the white woman and not the victims.

It really is sickening. Unfortunately, Justin Kurzel's making a movie about Port Arthur right now - https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-12-01/port-arthur-massacre-survivor-says-film-depiction-inapprorpriate/12939572.

It's completely tasteless and I hope it tanks tbh.

I saw that when I scrolled down. It’s disgusting.

I don’t want to see that. I had enough nightmares as a kid after hearing what happened to Allanah and Madeline, let alone seeing it acted out on screen (even if they don’t show it, you KNOW we’ll get the sounds)

Port Arthur still makes me cry. Fuck that asshole

I totally agree, it's awful. Also having seen Snowtown, I have zero faith in Justin Kurzel's ability to handle the material in a way that's not exploitative.

I haven’t watched Snowtown so can’t comment. (I don’t do horror/gore)
