Chris Hemsworth has voiced his support for traditional custodians who are trying to protect sacred Indigenous sites in Byron Bay.

The Byron Bay resident shared a video featuring local activist Lois Cook condemning the proposed plans to build an resort in the area.

Per Cook and the Friends of Seven Mile campaign, there is a bid to build an eco-tourist resort on land that belongs to the Nyangbul people.

"I stand shoulder-to-shoulder in solidarity with Auntie Lois Cook in opposition to the tourism development at Seven Mile Beach. I fully support traditional custodians' right to preserve and protect their homelands. This proposed development would have a direct impact on these sacred and significant Indigenous sites."
