So Dua Lipa's Levitating was expected to hit #1 on Billboard Hot 100 this week. Dua herself had been tweeting about it. But that did not happen. On the latest Billboard HHot 100 charted, released 2 days later than usual, Levitating rose to #2. So what happened?

On the article on Billboard.com, they mention the reason for the delay of this week's chart as:

The announcement of this week's Hot 100 was delayed by approximately 48 hours while Billboard and MRC Data conducted standard audits on reported data, working with data partners to recognize and resolve anomalies.

That's it, no further explanation. However, chart tracking account @chartdata tweeted that there was a difference of the sales of "Levitating" which Nielsen Music (who track the music sales) reported compared to what Billboard used calculating Levitating' chart position. Meaning that they saw some abnormalities between the reported figured for Levitating.

Digital sales reported by Billboard for @DUALIPA's "Levitating" this week were lower than Nielsen's original report: about 4.3K sales were removed.
