Does this ride have a storyline? I know they made an entire franchise of Pirates of the Caribbean but it’s still a bit weird for me to have movies based on rides! Lol

Also I didn’t know until I rode it last year that there is a movie based on Haunted Mansion.

Lol I didn’t know!! So there are more movies based on rides than I thought!

Oh wasn’t there that George Clooney movie called Tomorrowland? Was that based on the Disneyworld area too? Lol

I greatly enjoyed Tomorrowland. And there's Eddie Murphy's Haunted Mansion.

I am curious about Haunted Mansion because the ride is great-maybe I’ll make it a Halloween movie this year!

It's not good at all unfortunately :( they really need to try again and make a better version of it bc the material is there. That's my fave ride ever. I know Guillermo del Toro has wanted to make a movie version of it but I doubt that will ever happen.

I haven't ridden it in years but there was a low key plotline about finding a plane crash and then seeing the survivors had set up a camp, and then a part about being surrounded by "natives" that i think has been taken out. But really not a lot to go on. Most of the ride is the guide making jokes throughout the "tour"

Ohh I see...well then lol. Some rides do have elaborate plots like that Dinosaur one at Animal Kingdom so I was curious. To be honest all I think of regarding this ride is how the boat sank like 2 or 3 days before I went there last year. I had no desire to ride it after that.
Also the fact that they took out that assuredly stereotypical “surrounded by natives” part makes me think of that loser who was complaining recently that Disney World is too “woke” now and they are alienating their best customers by...finally taking offensive stuff out of their rides? Like updating the theme for Splash mountain which apparently caused a bunch of people to have a fit.

The jungle is a metaphor for limbo and the cruise is the trip all heathens have to make. Only the truly devoted will find their way to the harbour (heaven), while many along the way will suffer diarrhea (torture) and will be left behind in small sea villages without western civilisation (hell).
