oh yeah her lyrics are intensely personal, almost uncomfortably so. Not in a bad way mind but it's straight from the heart being worn on the sleeve. Especially on Melodrama.

Green Light, to me anyway, much more reads like she's caught feelings for someone who's in a relationship and is waiting for a signal from them that it's time to act on it.

yeah, I don't doubt that they're friends now but like the user above me said, Lorde had just come out with pure heroine and was at her peak and giving interviews where she criticized Taylor's music/put herself in opposition to her, and so I always felt like at least part of Taylor's motivation to swoop in and befriend her was to neutralize her as competition.
