Florence, sans Machine, previously contributed to the soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann’s 2013 The Great Gatsby film, but the new stage musical is not connected with that. Welch feels “haunted” by the book and this is a longtime dream project - now very affordable because the book entered the public domain this year.
