The New York Times has declared that skinny jeans are over.
Gen Z girls prefer high-waisted, loose-fitting, straight-legged jeans. Many people refer to this style as "mom jeans" after the popular SNL spoof. Men's jeans are also becoming looser, resembling Barack Obama's "dad jeans."
Skinny jeans still make up 34% of the jeans market, and it's amazing that they have lasted for more than a decade.
